Coffee has a very distinct smell. Its odor usually fills the whole room and there is absolutely no denying that there is a cup of coffee somewhere nearby. In the same way, as believers, we are called to be like coffee. We are called to fill the room we are in with the aroma of Christ.
Just as people drink coffee to help them wake up, we are called to help others wake up. We are the lights of this dark world and we spread the revelation of Jesus to those around us.
People also drink coffee because the caffeine in it gives them energy. However, this energy is temporary and usually later leads to a caffeine crash. But we have energy that will never fade away. The same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives in us who believe.
So, next time you are drinking a cup of coffee, remember that you are called to spread the aroma of Christ, help others wake up and see the Light and walk in the resurrection power of Jesus.
But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 2:14-15
Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Ephesians 5:14
