Christmas - Poem
Merry Christmas! This poem features excerpts from many popular Christmas songs and relates the Christmas story to the gospel. From the cradle to the cross, Jesus’ life was the cost to buy back what we had lost—intimacy with the Father. Be blessed this Christmas.
Away in a manger
No crib for a bed
His love for us all would one day run red
Joy to the world
The Lord has come
Through His blood our debts are none
Let every heart prepare Him room
Make no mistake
He walked out of that tomb
Fall on your knees
Jesus stole death’s keys
Oh night divine
He was sent to redeem mankind
On that silent night
We saw the Light
The dawn of redeeming grace
Came to take up our case
Born is the King
Let the angels sing
What child is this?
That He would do all this!
From the cradle to the cross
His life was the cost
To buy back what we had lost
Go tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Let God’s love be the gift we share
Come let us adore Him
Soon the nations will bow before Him
God and sinners reconciled
It all began with a little child
This Christmas don’t forget to see
The world’s greatest mystery
God appeared in the flesh
I pray in your heart His peace would rest
Be blessed.
