25 Bible Verses For Young Christian Women
I love the Lord, and I love writing about what He has put on my heart. My prayer is that you feel encouraged and strengthened as you read, because life as a young woman can feel heavy sometimes. Not always on the outside, but on the inside, where nobody else can see.
I am legally blind. I have no vision in my right eye and limited vision in my left eye. I was also born fourteen weeks premature, weighing just one pound, thirteen ounces. I spent 145 days in the NICU and went through multiple code blues, two deadly infections, and three major eye surgeries before I was even six months old. My vision was affected because of Retinopathy of Prematurity.
I share that for one reason. I know what it feels like when something about your life tries to speak louder than what God says about you.
Maybe your pain points look different than mine. Maybe it is anxiety that keeps showing up when everything gets quiet. Maybe you feel pressure to have your future figured out right now. Maybe you have been labeled by people who do not even know you. Maybe you feel behind, overlooked, or tired of trying to prove yourself.
Here is what I have had to come back to again and again. Eternally speaking, my disability is temporary. It does not define me. What defines me is that I am an eternal child of God. And if you belong to Jesus, that is true for you too.
That is why it is so critical that we speak the truth of God’s Word over ourselves. The most important voice we hear must be a voice of truth. When feelings get loud, truth has to get louder.
Below are 25 powerful Bible verses grouped by anxiety, identity, confidence and more because these are some of the biggest places where young women get attacked. Read them slowly. Say them out loud. Write them down. Let God’s Word settle your heart.
Anxiety and Peace
1. Philippians 4:6 and 7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
When your thoughts start piling up, God does not tell you to pretend you are fine. He tells you to pray, to thank Him, and to bring your requests to Him. Then He promises peace that will guard your heart and mind.
2. 1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
You are not too much for God. Hand Him what is weighing you down. He cares about what concerns you.
3. Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
God does not just say, Do not fear. He tells you why. He is with you. He strengthens you. He helps you. He upholds you.
4. Matthew 6:34
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Anxiety loves to drag you into tomorrow. God brings you back to today. He gives daily grace for daily needs.
5. John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
The world’s peace is fragile. Jesus gives peace that holds steady when life does not.
6. Psalm 94:19
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
If your mind feels crowded, God’s comfort is not small. It can delight your soul even in the middle of the noise.
Identity and Worth
7. Psalm 139:14
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
God made you on purpose. Your worth is not something you earn. It is something God already established when He created you.
8. Isaiah 43:1
But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
You are not overlooked. God calls you by name. And He says, Thou art mine.
9. 1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Chosen. Royal. Holy. Called into light. That is how God speaks about His people, even when the world tries to label you in smaller ways.
10. Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
You are God’s workmanship. He has purpose for your life. You are not wandering. You are being led.
11. Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
If shame has been trying to attach itself to you, this is truth you need to speak out loud. In Christ, there is no condemnation.
12. 2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Your past does not get to define you when Jesus makes you new.
13. Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
This is personal. The Son of God loved you, and gave Himself for you. You are never alone in what you are facing.
14. 2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Fear is not your portion. God gives power, love, and a sound mind. That is what you can ask Him for when anxiety tries to take over.
Future and Purpose
15. Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Your future is not random. God’s thoughts toward you are peaceful, and He has an expected end for you.
16. Proverbs 3:5 and 6
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
You do not have to understand everything to trust God. Acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
17. Psalm 32:8
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
God is a faithful guide. He instructs. He teaches. He leads.
18. James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
If you need wisdom, ask. God is not stingy with direction. He gives liberally.
19. Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
God wastes nothing. He can work through hard seasons and still bring good from them.
20. Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
When you delight in the Lord, He shapes your desires and leads you toward what will truly bless you.
Strength and Courage
21. Joshua 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
This is not hype. This is a command with a promise. Be strong, because God is with you wherever you go.
22. Psalm 46:5
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
I love this reminder for women. God is in the middle of it with you. You will not be moved, because He will help you.
23. Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Whatever God calls you to do, He will strengthen you to do it. Your strength is not limited to what you feel in the moment.
24. Isaiah 43:2
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Notice it says when, not if. But it also says, I will be with thee. God’s presence is your safety.
Confidence, Beauty, and Character
25. 1 Peter 3:3 and 4
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
The world puts pressure on outward beauty. God values the heart. A gentle and steady spirit is precious to Him.
Wrap Up
If you only remember one thing from this post, let it be this. God is the One who has the authority to tell you who you really are.
I have had to live that truth in real life. From the beginning, my story came with challenges I did not choose. And yet God has been faithful. He has given me courage to step beyond what people might expect. He has given me grace to keep showing up, to keep learning, to keep growing. He opened doors for me to participate in dance, gymnastics, track, swim, choir, and marching band. He helped me become fluent in Braille. He allowed me to use my voice through writing and speaking. None of that is because I am strong on my own. It is because God is strong, and He meets us in our weakness.
That is why I am so passionate about identity. When you know you are God’s daughter, you stop living like you have to earn a place you already have. You stop shrinking. You stop hiding in the shadows. You begin to radiate God’s light, not because life is easy, but because Jesus gives us the grace to live with purpose, peace, and a steady pace.
Here are some simple ways to use these verses:
Choose one category that matches what you are facing.
Write two or three verses on a note in your phone or on a card by your bed.
Read them out loud each morning.
Speak them over yourself when fear tries to talk.
Pray them back to God, word for word, and ask Him to make them real in your heart.
Truth changes how you think. Truth changes how you live. Truth changes the way you see yourself.
You are chosen. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are dearly loved by God. And your story is not finished.
