My Current Top 5 Favorite Christian Songs

hands raised in worship

I want to share with you my top five favorite songs at the moment. I am a big lover of music, so my favorite songs vary quite a lot. But here are five songs that I have had on repeat lately. These are not in any particular order because each one is unique, so I don't want to create a hierarchy.

1 - I Will

SEU Worship

First of all, shoutout to my college as this song is off SEU's latest record (mixtape, actually). I love the sound and lyrics of this song. I feel it represents the way I personally think about God, so it really resonates with me.

Here are some of my favorite lyrics:

Every day You show Your colors
I can see Your heart uncovered
I will find You
Endless places to discover
I can see Your grace uncovered
I will praise You

Those lyrics reflect my heart personally. I love colors, I love to search out the depth of the grace of God and I especially love exploring new dimensions of God's heart. This song is so on point with how I think and who I am in so many ways.

2 - Jump

NONAH

I discovered this song and band last week on Spotify's playlist of new Christian releases. I have had this song on repeat all week and I will continue to have it on repeat. I love the music's adventurous aesthetic and the singer's voice blends so well with the theme/feeling of the song.

Here are some of my favorite lyrics:

Looking down from up so high
There's a battle inside my mind
You keep telling me I'm made to fly
I'm going to jump into Your arms
I'm going to give you all of me, everything
I'm never looking back
Fixing my eyes on You
I'm going to jump into Your arms

The lyrics capture the tension of wanting to take risks and trust God when fear tries to hold us down. This song will get you fired up to step out in faith because that risk will totally be worth the reward of trusting Him, He's faithful in your free fall.

3 - Healing

Riley Clemmons

Riley has done it again. Her amazing vocals, combined with profound and poetic lyrics, make for another spectacular piece of art. This song really resonates with me because of the hard season I have walked through for the past few years. It has definitely been a journey of healing, and this song conveys just that.

Here are some of my favorite lyrics;

Saw the end of the tunnel, didn't think that I could make it out
Got so used to the dark, I was scared of what the light would do now
I couldn't piece me back together, with some band-aids and a roll of tape
Sitting round wishing it all away
Believing there was something better, just took a leap of faith
Now I'm healing…
Gave myself some grace, my soul began to feel the change
I let love flood my heart
Like the sun upon a tear-stained face…

JUST GO LISTEN, IT IS ALL SO GOOD!! Also, the music video for this song is totally worth checking out. It is honestly one of the best music videos I have ever seen, so artistic, authentic and beautiful.

4 - Architecture

Jonathan Thulin

This song is older (2013), but I feel it is so anointed and very well-written. I have never heard it played on Christian radio, but I wish more people could listen to this song. I think it will mean something different to each person who listens, as the lyrics are full of poetic imagery that will make room for various interpretations. I again love the theme of perspective in this song (if you can't tell vision/perspective is something I am very passionate about, haha!).

Here are some of my favorite lyrics;

You build me up like a city of gold
The battles rage, but I'm standing tall
You form my heart like an empire
The wind and waves can't stop this fire
I if only I could see it form Your perspective
The beauty and the grace of Your architecture

Not only are the lyrics stunning, but the song is also well-structured with a nice flow and build-up to the climax. I think it's highly underrated, and I hope more people discover this beautiful work of art.

5 - Stay with Me

Dee Wilson, Fatai

This is another new song that just came out, and as with "Jump" by NONAH, I had never heard of these artists before. But WOW., THIS SONG! The vocals are off the charts and the song is full of surprises.

Here are some of my favorite lyrics:

You can speak one word and make my story change
But choose to help me write the words instead
Patiently, You always stay with me
You take the time to weep and don't rush
Just stay with me

So deep, so profound, so healing. Listen for a great experience for your soul.
