Godsend

Singer/songwriter Riley Clemmons just released a new album entitled “Godsend”. I have been a fan of her music for years, so I was definitely looking forward to her new music.

Five of my favorite songs from Riley Clemmons Godsend album

1 - A Little Faith

This song is sure to boost your mood and get you dancing! Its upbeat melody and motivational lyrics will help you keep believing God’s promises even when they have not yet manifested. Centered on Jesus’ teaching on how even a little faith can accomplish much (Matthew 17:20, Luke 17:5-6), you will be encouraged and expectant for what God can do even with a little “mustard seed” faith. As one of the verses says, “God is going to show out even if all you do is show up”. C’mon!

Favorite Lyrics:

Some days will come at you swinging

Some days will knock you down

But you’ve got a King in your corner and He won’t leave you now

Cause it’s amazing what a little faith can do

When you think you’ve found a mountain that won’t move

God won’t let you break when you’re so close to breaking through

Don’t give up, cause He’s not giving up on you

Wait and see what a little faith can do

2 - Keep on Hoping

I have had this song on repeat ever since it came out. It is a perfect anthem for the times we are living in. I think we all could use a reminder to keep on hoping when the days get dark.

Favorite Lyrics:

Keep on hoping when the days get dark

Keep on singing, don’t you ever lose heart

Lift your eyes, the One who gave you life will give you strength to keep on going

So, keep on hoping

3 - Godsend

The album’s title track was not released as a single, so I was anticipating hearing this new song. It has a lovely melody and beautiful lyrics that encourage us to look at every broken place in our lives as a “Godsend”, something that the Lord can redeem and make beautiful.

Favorite Lyrics:

Every closed door

Every single sharp thorn

Every answer that didn’t make sense

What if, maybe, they were just teaching me to depend on

Your strength in the dark days

All my tears got me crying out to you again

What if, maybe, every broken place I’ve been was a Godsend

4 - Irreplaceable

This song is a reminder that we are so treasured and cherished by God. We are irreplaceable to Him. His love gives us our identity. His voice is the only one that can tell us who we really are.

Favorite Lyrics:

To You I am more than just a face in the crowd

Worth more than gold and any amount

To You I am irreplaceable

The scars in Your hands say that I am worth fighting for

They say that I’m forever adored

To You I am irreplaceable

5 - Healing

The artistic and cinematic feel of this song is one of a kind. It really resonates with me because of the hard season I have walked through for the past few years. It has definitely been a journey of healing, and this song conveys just that. Also, the music video for this song is totally worth checking out.

Favorite Lyrics:

Gave myself some grace, my soul began to feel the change

I let love flood my heart

Like the sun upon a tear-stained face

Now I’m healing…

Riley has done it again. Her amazing vocals, combined with profound and poetic lyrics, make for another spectacular album. I am not exaggerating when I say these songs have been a “Godsend” for me, the singles came just when I needed them most.

I pray this album is a “Godsend” for you as well.
