1. Genesis 28:15 — God Stays Until He Finishes

Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”

Jacob heard this while running from a mess he’d made himself. God opened with a promise, and He attached a timeline to it: not until I have done what I said. If God has spoken something over your life, He’s present the whole time you wait for it. He stays through the running, the sleeping on a rock and the years in between.

2. Numbers 23:19 — God Does Not Change His Mind Like People Do

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and he won’t do it? Or has he spoken, and he won’t make it good?

Between the word and the fulfillment came slavery, a wilderness, wars and many people who died before they saw it. The author tells the truth about what happened, and then he points to the one thing still standing after everything else collapsed.
