The Mystery - Poem
There is a time and a season for everything. A winter season may be confusing, dark and lonely, but there is a beautiful mystery in it all. When the spring finally arrives, we look back in wonder at the faithfulness of God even in all the suffering He sometimes allows. Our tears are seeds in the soil where in time flowers will grow.
When I look at me
I am looking at You
My life is a reflection
Of every season You brought me through
I thought I was broken
But this realization made me whole
When I was lost in darkness
Your light filled my soul
I thought I was dead
But you gave me life
I thought I was blind
But you gave me sight
I thought I was dirty
But you made me clean
Now I know that sometimes
Things are better off unseen
I thought I had lost
But you made me know
That in my hour of trial
My heart was still aglow
For when I am weak
You are strong
In the middle of the night
There still is a song
When light seems dim
And all hope seems lost
There new life begins
More beautiful than what was lost
Deep in the shadows
Your light shines through all
For you always answer
Every time I call
Through every high and low
You’re there with me I know
You never let me go
Even in the soil of suffering
Through all the years of buffering
The winter is here to teach us something
There is a time for everything
A season for every activity under the sun
But maybe we gain the most
In the ones that aren’t fun
Looking back now
I realize how
Faithful You are
Even through the hell You allow
It’s so clear to see
You were there with me
Through it all
Now the winter is over
The spring is here
The mystery of Your ways
Now becomes clear
As the flowers appear
And the sound of singing birds
Fills the air with cheer
It begins to sink in
That all my dark days led me here
The struggle reveals Your compassion
I know that
It’s your nail scarred hands that fashion
My heart into your vessel
From every pain that you let happen
One day we’ll reap joy
From every tear we’ve sown
Our tears are seeds in the soil
Where in time flowers will grow
Oh, I know
There’s mystery
In the misery
Yes, weeping may endure for the night
But one day we’ll see the dawn, so bright
There’s a reason for every season
Indeed, God’s plans are right
